The Senior Research Assistant will work under the direction of the Principal Investigator and Project Manager to implement participant recruitment and data collection for the HRSA funded Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP) technical assistance evaluation project. The RCORP TA Evaluation project seeks to evaluate the technical assistance provided to more than 200 grantees located across the United States in rural communities. The senior research assistant will follow the protocol to recruit, schedule, and conduct qualitative interviews and site visits. Duties include, but are not limited to: 1) Developing and revising interview and survey protocols; 2) identifying sites using site selection criteria; 3) recruiting participants for interviews and site visits; 4) consenting participants for qualitative interviews and site visits; 5) conducting interviews and site visits (in person and virtual), 6) analyzing interview and survey data, and 7) assisting with manuscript and report preparation. The senior research assistant will attend RCORP TA Evaluation team meetings. In addition, this position will complete general project activities as needed. The senior research assistant must be willing to travel within the US for in-person site visits and be comfortable conducting qualitative interviews.
Participate in all RCORP TA Evaluation team meetings
Support data collection for evaluation including recruiting, consenting, and conducting interviews and site visits
Develop and revise survey tools, analyze survey data
Code qualitative interview data and participate in qualitative analysis
Manuscript and report preparation
Bachelors Degree (4 yr) with major courses in field of research and 1 to 3 years of relevant experience
Experience with office/project coordination duties similar to key duties and responsibilities.
Proficient with computers, particularly with word processing, Adobe, and Microsoft Office software.
Must possess excellent verbal, written and communication skills and a professional image with a demonstrated ability to interact with management, consultants, and customers.
Organizational skills and ability to perform flexibly with heavy workload, tight deadlines, and changing priorities.
Working conditions: OHSU PSU School of Public Health or remote. This position may be remote, or hybrid (part time remote/part time in person). Travel for site visits in rural communities in the US when appropriate.
Physical demands & equipment usage: Candidate must be able to use laptop computer or workstation and have the ability to work remotely.
