Job Description and Duties The incumbent works under the Health Program Manager (SSM) II in the California Home Visiting Program (CHVP) Program Development and Implementation (PDI) Section in the Child and Adolescent Health (CAH) Branch. The Health Program Specialist (HPS) IIs functions as a highly skilled, technical, program specialist focused on planning, coordinating, and administering CHVP. CHVP aims to support local agencies implementing evidence-based home visiting models that serve parents, children and families. Supported by decades of research, home visits by a trained professional during pregnancy and in the first few years of life improves the lives of children and families by preventing child abuse and neglect, supporting positive parent
