Job Title: Mobile Health Unit Driver Department: Clinical Services Supervisor: Director of Nursing & Clinical Services
Position Summary
Under the direction of the Mobile Health Unit Program Coordinator, the Mobile Medical Unit driver is responsible for driving the vehicle to and from various outreach events, health fairs, and community events, setting up for clinic services, and performing a variety of designated duties as assigned during designated hours in the community along with assisting participants to enter and exit the vehicle when needed. Must be reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently.
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED preferred.
Minimum of 21 years of age.
Ability to speak, read and write English.
Fluency in languages other than English is a PLUS
Must possess and maintain a valid Class A unexpired, unsuspended, and unrestricted
Commercial Drivers' License with a good driving record and ability to drive the mobile medical unit to and from events.
Minimum of two years of tractor trailer/mobile unit driving experience preferred.
Must pass a physical and drug screening.
Current with required employee immunizations or evidence of immunity.
Essential Functions
Maintain a clean and mechanically sound vehicle.
Follow all traffic laws and regulations.
Complete vehicle pre-check and inspect vehicle before and after each scheduled event.
Ensure vehicle maintenance is performed as recommended and notify the Mobile
Health Unit Coordinator when vehicle maintenance is needed, including oil changes, tire replacement, etc.
Pick up the mobile unit from the storage facility and drive to the health department to pick up staff and needed supplies on scheduled event days.
Assist with loading of medical supplies and equipment onto the mobile Health Unit
Ensure the vehicle is properly fueled.
Provide site surveillance of location for safety purposes.
Responsible for ensuring the vehicle is set up and hooked up properly at the designated location.
Drop staff off at the health department, help unload supplies, and return the mobile unit to the storage facility at the end of the clinic.
Empty sewer holding tanks/water lines after each clinic day.
Immediately report any problems or concerns to the supervisor.
Notify the mobile unit coordinator as soon as possible is unable to work on a scheduled clinic day.
Assist individuals to board and exit the unit as needed.
Keep log of miles traveled, locations visited, and vehicle maintenance. Prepare reports as requested.
Maintain confidentiality of clients utilizing mobile health unit services.
Willingness to learn other duties as assigned to enhance the performance of the mobile health unit and as training abilities allow.
Flexibility to assist with weekend events as feasible.
Other duties as assigned.

Ability to push, pull, carry, and lift items up to 50 pounds while assisting with loading supplies on the mobile unit.
Work Conditions
Work will be started at the Iredell County Health Department, 318 Turnersburg Hwy, Statesville, NC 28625 and then will proceed to various sites in the community.
Minimum availability at least two full 8-9-hour workdays per week.
May be asked to work between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. any day of the week including weekends.
Work is considered sedentary, which involves sitting for moderate periods of time.
