A Registered Nurse – School Health (10 Months) cares for patients in schools' clinics, homes, and other community settings under the direction of a nursing supervisor or other health professional. Work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities.
Incumbents receive moderate supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class work a conventional workweek. Work is performed in schools, clinics, homes or other community settings where incumbents may encounter illness, disease or stressful situations.
Position is with the Bureau of School Health and is only employed during the school year.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
On or before the date of filing the application, each candidate must:
EDUCATION: Have an associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited college
AND EXPERIENCE: Have two years of experience in a clinical setting, pediatric experience preferred.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of nursing practices and techniques.
Knowledge of nursing theory and process.
Knowledge of professional nursing standards.
Ability to deal effectively with others.
Ability to assess the physical and emotional needs of individuals and families.
