As the Senior Contracts Manager within the WIC unit at the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.
**This position is funded by a federal grant and is subject to available grant funds
Job Responsibilities
Job Summary: Reporting directly to the WIC Director, the Senior Contracts Manager will provide leadership and administrative management for WIC contract activities. The Manager will recommend and implement policies and procedures, and coordinate strategic activities related to contracts.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Provides senior-level and managerial consultative services and technical assistance for assigned contracts and process payments.
Creates and distributes regular reports on key performance metrics for contract management activities.
Works with program staff as well as other DPH staff and community partners to ensure development and implementation of contract activities.
Provides training for contract business owners
Provides oversight of contract management activities including deliverables review and contract monitoring
Manages timelines to ensure timely completion and submission of contracts in accordance with agency and fund source guidelines.
Manages communication with program team members to assist with strategic planning for contracts, as needed.
Monitors contract for accuracy and timeliness of expenditures.
Monitors contract renewal deadlines and ensures timely submissions.
Develops long- and short-term objectives and plans as related to contracts.
Develops policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines as related to contracts.
Coordinates contract meetings to discuss submissions with program staff and DPH Procurement and Contracts office.
Performs other assignments as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Four years' experience managing professional level staff OR Eight years of related professional experience AND Four years managing at the level equivalent to area of assignment OR Four years of experience at the lower level (GSM011) or position equivalent.
Note: A combination of education and experience at agency discretion.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants who in addition to meeting the minimum qualification possess the following:
5+ years of demonstrated experience with contract management including contract modifications and contract monitoring
5+ years of demonstrated experience developing and monitoring contracts compliance and knowledge of program and policy planning, program development, implementation and evaluation
2+ years of experience using PeopleSoft Financials
Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interface with senior leadership
2+ years supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to coach staff and teams with diverse levels of expertise
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products (e.g.., Word, Excel)
