As a Health Service Consultant, you will provide coordination and reporting support to the Maternal & Child Health (MCH) Block Grant and serve as the state coordinator for the Child Fatality Review & Prevention Program initiatives that enhance the health and well-being of families and communities across Washington State. You’ll also work to foster collaborative relationships with local and national health partners. Your efforts in this work will help prevent disease, reducing health inequities, and promoting healthy choices for all.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Lead coordination activities for the Child Death Review and Prevention Program (CDRP), coordinating with local health teams, the National Center for Fatality Review, and other key partners.
Develop and maintain a web-based Lifecourse Learning platform for Local Health Jurisdictions.
Manage and facilitate a statewide Child Death Review Community of Practice.
Lead and manage collaborative processes for developing state Child Death Review and Prevention reports and recommendations
Manage and implement the workplan for CDRP, in conjunction with other project plans related to CDRP such as other fatality review projects
Coordinate the MCH Block Grant process, supporting needs assessments, and reporting.
Lead quality improvement work to address the annual report summary recommendations
Option 1: Seven (7) or more years of management or consultative experience in a health services program working directly with maternal and child health programs, public health initiatives, or other activities that promote and prevent health issues within communities.
Option 2: A bachelor’s degree or higher in public health, health care administration, education, public or business administration, or a closely related field; AND three (3)years of management or consultative experience in a health services program working directly with maternal and child health programs, public health initiatives, or other activities that promote and prevent health issues within communities.
AND the following skills and abilities:
Ability to lead collaborative projects, manage stakeholder relationships, and coordinate efforts across multiple agencies.
Proficient in data analysis, program evaluation, and reporting within public health settings.
Communication and facilitation skills to engage with diverse partners, including local health jurisdictions, community organizations, and state agencies; able to write for various audiences and effectively summarize complex information.
Demonstrated commitment to addressing health inequities and integrating equity into public health programs and initiatives.
