A Lactation Technician provides breastfeeding support and counseling to breastfeeding mothers in Women, Infants and Children (WIC) clinics and local hospitals. Work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities. Incumbents receive supervision from a Registered Dietician. Employees in this class work a conventional workweek. Work is performed in a clinic or hospital setting. Work requires minimal physical exertion.
