Position: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
Department: Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)
Job Summary: • Administer appropriate nursing care to residents in the skilled nursing facility under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. • Perform a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties and activities. • Supervise CNA staff, ensuring tasks are completed effectively. • Provide bedside care, assist with treatments, and ensure residents' baseline health is maintained. • Participate in the development of residents' care plans and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Essential Skills: • Understanding of basic medical terminology and nursing procedures. • Ability to perform nursing procedures accurately and effectively. • Proficiency in documentation and ability to prepare clear and concise reports. • Strong communication skills for interacting with residents, families, and staff. • Knowledge of hospital equipment, supplies, and infection control procedures. • Ability to provide compassionate care and maintain effective work relationships. • Understanding of pharmaceuticals for the elderly and their side effects. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
Minimum Qualifications: • High school graduate or equivalent. • Successful completion of an accredited LVN/LPN program. • Current valid California LVN license or Interim Permit. • Valid Basic Life Support/Healthcare Provider certification.
