This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan assisting with coordination of the Quality Assurance (QA) program within Bioscientific and Technical Support Section of the Operations Branch. The Public Health Microbiologist I (PHM I) makes bacterial growth media and biochemical reagents to be used for diagnostic purposes; validates new Quality Control (QC) media and reagents to maintain preparedness for bacterial outbreaks and other public health threats and emergencies; and assists with additional QA responsibilities as assigned.
