Summary: This position performs accounting duties with specialization in the general ledger, accounts receivable, analysis, and other duties necessary for processing accounting documents and financial information on a timely basis. Responsible for reconciling and maintaining specific balance sheet accounts.
Location: Remote
Anticipated pay rate: $32.50/hr. Extended experience: up to $36.25/hr. if experience exceeds expectations
Principal Functions:
Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts monthly
Identify balance sheet variances and investigate and propose adjustments/corrections to the Director
Assist cardholders with problems and questions concerning the operation of their VISA card
Handle credit card disputes and assist by resolving the problem in the most professional manner
In consultation with the Director and with an approved request, assist with setting up new credit cards
Prepare accounts receivable transactions and general ledger journal entries for monthly closing activities (may be of a recurring, correcting, or reversing nature)
Assist in reviewing project setup in JAMIS for foundation grants
Update and maintain JAMIS charts of accounts
PROTECH & Blue Pay processing: responsible for all PROTECH and Blue Pay processing, matching, and reconciling of payments and identifying/resolving issues with minimum supervision
Process payments received through all channels for yearly TechXpo, Alumni Dues, DPHP, and other meetings or conferences
Compile information for annual membership invoicing in collaboration with the Director of Financial Accounting; track, monitor, and process payments received; send out reminders to contacts for past due payments; provide monthly reconciled AR Aged Outstanding and AR balance by GL account
Set up and maintain updated project codes in Wells Fargo Commercial Portal.
Download monthly credit card reports and statements from Wells Fargo Bank; process both credit card charges as well as ATC Travel report, checking to ensure that the coding is correct, especially miscellaneous expenses and job for the Fringe Benefit Pool; analyze and reconcile account monthly or as needed
Prepare by-weekly Payroll related journal entries and ensure that all codes are correct and valid, and split periods labor distributions are recognized
Investigate and resolve customer complaints and queries
Assist in preparing requested schedules for annual audit
Serve as backup for the Accounts Payable and other accounting functions
Qualifications:
Bachelor???s degree in accounting, finance, or related fields from an accredited university (CPA preferred)
3+ years of progressive relevant work experience in accounting (non-profit or related organizational experience highly desirable)

Ability to perform accounting processes and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner, and ability to function effectively in a team environment
Working knowledge of grants accounting
Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously
Experience with systems/processes improvement initiatives, including accounting software
Knowledge of JAMIS ERP is a plus
Working knowledge of MS Excel (advanced formulas, functions V-look up and pivot tables helpful)
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
Must be able to manage time effectively to meet the needs of Leadership
