Job Description and Duties The Assistant Industrial Hygienist (AIH) is the first working professional level classification in the series. The AIH performs the average level difficulty industrial hygiene work associated with achieving the goals of the Injury Illness and Prevention Program (IIPP) for the California of Department of Public Health (CDPH) staff statewide. The AIH conducts Department-wide Heath and Safety (H&S) programs and policies, and performs a variety of investigations, monitoring, and inspection activities for the purpose of identifying, addressing, and preventing workplace hazards that may lead to employee H&S problems.
