Purpose of Position: The Emergency Preparedness Coordinator works independently to perform consultative and administrative work in strategic planning and implementation of a Public Health Emergency Preparedness program for the Health Department. The Emergency Preparedness Coordinator performs disease surveillance, data collection, data analysis, and presents findings to upper management along with recommendations for strategies and/or interventions to prepare Pitt County for public health emergency responses. This position is also responsible for developing and organizing preparedness exercises and drills for health department staff and collaborative agencies to ensure public health readiness in the event of a public health emergency and/or disaster.
