As you step into the role, you become an integral part of our mission, responsible for pivotal tasks that include:

• Draft contracts, ensure compliance with rules, assist with bidding, and communicate with customers to understand their contract needs. Provide support with contract rules, alert leadership to potential issues, maintain compliance, and keep contract data organized in databases and Excel.
• Oversee contract email account, maintain contract tracking system, gather and review contract data and reports, and collaborate with colleagues during contract negotiations.
• Reviewing contract requests to ensure they meet our criteria, assisting customers in meeting their requirements, recording pending contracts in our system, and collaborating with other departments as necessary.
• Respond to records requests, organize records, and collaborate with other teams. Prepare records for sharing, manage program records, and prepare records for transfer to the State Records Center and/or the State Archives.
• Engage with agency employees to support their contract needs through meetings, calls, and/or emails, using your expertise to assist them in navigating agency/state contract processes.  Establish trust and communicate effectively.

This full-time, permanent Contracts Specialist 1 (CS1) position is stationed out of the Tumwater duty station. Telework (mobile work) is currently expected.  Required in-office work is rare and infrequent and would be scheduled in advance.
