Infant Botulism Program Chief - PUBLIC HEALTH MEDICAL OFFICER III (EPIDEMIOLOGY)
This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by contributing to the fulfillment of the statutory mandates of the Infant Botulism Treatment and Prevention Program stipulated in Health & Safety Code §§123700-709. The Public Health Medical Officer III (PHMO III) (Epidemiology) directs the day-to-day activities of the Infant Botulism Treatment and Prevention Program (IBTPP) and serves as a technical expert/consultant. The PHMO III directs the production, distribution, and improvement of the CDPH orphan drug BabyBIG® (Human Botulism Immune Globulin Intravenous) in compliance with the 1982 Federal Orphan Drug Act and the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA).
