The Research Scientist III (RS III) supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by planning, organizing, and directing scientific research studies for the Epidemiological Research Section of the Data and Analytics Division within the Center for Health Care Quality (CHCQ). The RS III leads scientific research, collects data, and disseminates results aimed to support center activities within healthcare facilities and provider agencies and optimize data-driven quality improvement initiatives. The RS III leads the analysis of data and trends to predict serious issues and identify risks and methods of mitigation and prevention, provides prevention expertise, and leads the preparation of prevention education materials to be presented to management.
