This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by providing health program consultation and planning for the Center for Health Statistics and Informatics (CHSI) statewide syndromic surveillance system. The Health Program Specialist I (HPS I) is responsible for providing complex and technical health program consultation and coordination in support of CDPH’s cross-cutting effort to prevent opioid-related overdoses and utilize syndromic surveillance data for public health decision-making. The HPS I performs a variety of health program consultant tasks related to day-to-day coordination of activities, planning, and consulting with program leads. The HPS I helps to assess implementation of data management strategies and analytic t
