The primary purpose of this position is to apply advanced leadership and management skills to organizing, directing, and managing statewide preconception health and wellness and tobacco use prevention, reduction, and cessation programming and related initiatives for the Infant and Community Health Branch, Women, Infant and Community Wellness Section, Division of Public Health. This position also provides leadership to preconception heath efforts and the Women’s Health and Tobacco Coalition for Health (WATCH). These initiatives include representatives from state and local public health and community-based organizations, public and private clinicians and researchers on men’s and women’s health.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three (3) years of experience in the program related to the area of assignment; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Broad range of technical skills, including policy and analysis, marketing, management, cost analysis, training
Ability to apply professional public health theories and practices
Ability to interpret clinical and behavioral data
Knowledge of health care programs for women and men of childbearing age, pregnant women and infants through public and private agencies
Knowledge and skills in managing complex, multi-dimensional planning processes that involve multiple stakeholders is required
Experience with quality assurance experience is also essential
Management preferences:
Applicants with a Master’s degree in public health education, public health, social work, or public health administration.
Exemplary organizational, negotiation and coordination skills.
Strong communication skills.
Strong team-building skills and abilities.
Ability to problem-solve and make decisions independently on a daily basis.
Ability to work effectively with physicians, nurses, other health and human service providers, and members of the community overall is key.
