Job Responsibilities:
Oversee EHR implementation and operations to assure the system is available and adequate, the vendor/account is managed, enhancements are added to the system in a timely manner, and that the EHR system is running smoothly and efficiently.
Provide oversight of the EHR through monitoring, reporting, quality assurance, and quality improvement activities
Manage administrative and programmatic aspects of the EHR program, including budgeting, reporting, and being a liaison with DPH grant management-associated personnel.
Participates in managing the client health information and medical records while administering computer information systems and processes to meet legal, ethical, and medical requirements.
Plans, conducts, and documents agency staff use and security standards with the electronic health record, including system access and working with the agency's compliance officer to ensure privacy and security standards are maintained.
Provide EHR-related support staff with guidance and support to effectively manage and support the efficient delivery of public health services at the District/county level.
Oversee project creation, timeline, completion, and issue-resolution to successfully implement DPH programs, system updates, new functionality, etc.
Work closely with local district management and staff to understand and support their needs.
Collaborate with district health care providers (such as primary care physician, mental health workers, nurses) to ensure that full EHR functionality and benefits are equitably available to all Georgians.
Develop and measure KPIs for the EHR to define, track and communicate effectiveness, efficiency, and value of public health services delivery.
Understand the public health environment, key levers and drivers of public health services, EHR best practices and new functionality, key trends, and current news and movement in the space.
Perform data/systems analysis and provide analytical insights and direction on program development.
Participates in the EHR user and training groups to learn more about the product to guarantee the agency is functioning at the highest level possible with the utilization of the record.
Oversee education and training plans about the EHR.
Doctorate degree in a related filed from an accredited college or university AND Four years of management/supervisory experience in health care services OR Two years at the lower level (HCM013) or position equivalent OR Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Five years of management/supervisory experience in health care services OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Six years of management/supervisory experience in health care services.
Note: Some positions may require certification and/or licensure.
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent project management skills, including managing multiple projects.
Highly adaptable to changing situations.
Prior experience with EHR system design, development, and/or implementation.
Prior experience with the use of EHR systems in and for public health.
EHR certification.
Direct clinical care experience.
Demonstratable competency in contract/vendor oversight and management, business analysis, technology implementation, change management, budget management, partner relationships, problem solving, project management, training, technical support, teamwork, compliance, quality control, analytics and reporting.
