This is a full-time, permanent Health Services Consultant 3 (HSC 3) position located within the Office of Immunization.

As the Data Quality Specialist (HSC 3) you will:
Support DOH’s mission by ensuring that Immunization Information System (IIS) data accurately reflects immunization records.
Conduct program planning, implementation, and evaluation of statewide IIS data quality activities.
Work with healthcare providers, local health departments, other system users, and the system vendor to identify and resolve data and system issues and improve data submission processes.
Develop and document business rules and processes and procedures that impact system data quality.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Create and implement procedures to identify, track and resolve data quality issues.
Update and maintain the data quality plan to monitor IIS data quality.
Remain current on business rules related to data quality, reviewing existing rules and implementing new business rules as needed.
Develop and support quality assurance processes for evaluating Health Level 7 (HL7) interfaces and other data exchange processes and provide leadership to other staff responsible for supporting data quality.
Provide support in-person or online to system users to ensure imported and exported data is accurate and follow up with healthcare providers and other system users to respond to and resolve data quality issues.
The duty station for this hybrid position is in Tumwater, WA. This position will interact in-person or online with supervisors and staff, state office program staff, immunization system customers, electronic health records (EHR) system vendors, state and county immunization program coordinators and contractors, and the immunization information system vendor. An alternative work schedule may be considered upon request and supervisor approval. This would need to be a conversation between the hiring supervisor and the incumbent.
Required Qualifications
Note: Experience defined below may have been gained through lived, volunteer, professional, or a combination of experiences. Please ensure any relevant experience defined below is outlined in your cover letter, resume, and/or applicant profile.
Option 1: Four (4) or more years (full-time equivalency) of professional management or consultative experience in a health services program.
Option 2: Bachelor’s degree or higher in public health, health care administration, information technology, public or business administration.
AND,
Two (2) or more years of experience working in public health, healthcare, or a similar setting.
Two (2) or more years (full-time equivalency) of paid professional experience working with an immunization information system or other data system.
