The position routinely assists with consultation and direction of subordinate management staff in the development of operational priorities. Employee directs and monitors execution of programmatic, operations-related objectives and training needs of the CDI Section and is responsible for ensuring that resource allocation and operational priorities are supportive of and consistent with DPH and CDC federal goals and policies. This position monitors progress towards the organizational mission and has broad overall section wide programmatic responsibilities, such as safety, quality assurance and improvement, technical advisement, records management, grants coordination, program inventories, contract coordination, program-level work required for business office technical tasks and responsibilities, including grants tracking, facilities maintenance, building security, hiring and position tracking, administrative support services, and providing programmatic and administrative technical assistance and consultation to the CDI Section staff. This position also serves on the Section Operations Team, made up of programmatic operations staff from each program and branch. This group ensures the consistency of the Section’s operations functions, and works together to improve efficiency and effectiveness in all processes throughout the Section. This position functions as a liaison and point of contact with Division Business staff for any issues or concerns involving CDI Section operations.

Knowledge of the principles and practices of public and business administration including office management techniques, basic accounting, budgeting, purchasing, financial reporting.
Experience implementing administrative programs and procedures
Experience managing grant and contract budgets.
Experience in Microsoft Office Suite software.
Three years of state government experience.
Experience completing blanket and routine travel authorizations, conference authorizations and direct payments.
Experience monitoring state budget, grant and contract expenditures.
Experience the following software packages: NCAS, XTND, Beacon.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the field assigned to the position from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of related experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
