The Department of Health works to protect and improve the health of the people of Washington State. This senior level professional position contributes to this mission by providing technical consultation and assistance in the development, review, analysis and impact of health legislation and policy. This Regulatory Analyst 3 monitors implementation of legislation for the division of Health Systems Quality Assurance (HSQA), develops and edits reports and other communication materials for a legislative audience, reviews and edits bill analyses, makes policy recommendations on the agency’s position and action on bills, and contributes to the development of new agency-request legislation.
The duty station for this hybrid position is in Tumwater, WA. Telework (mobile work) is currently expected. The incumbent will work with their supervisor to establish a work schedule to include telework and reporting to the Tumwater duty station for work activities as needed.
This is a full-time, non-permanent Regulatory Analyst 3 (RA 3). This non-permanent position is expected to last up to six (6) months from date of hire.
Option 1: Five (5) years of experience doing legislative, regulatory, and/or policy analysis.
Option 2: A Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university; AND three (3) years of experience doing regulatory, legislative, and/or policy analysis.
AND
Demonstrated research and analytical experience, which includes experience researching, evaluating, and drawing conclusions from data; supporting recommendations with facts and analysis; and drafting, analyzing, and interpreting laws and rules.
