The individual in this title would ensure that patients eligible for or in need of special accommodations for the intellectually disabled would have access to these services. This employee will ensure that the facility is in compliance with delivery of educational services to all patients and maintain adequate functional programming for those who require or request it. This includes assuring that the curriculum and program content are delivered within required guidelines of the State of NJ Department of Education. This employee will be responsible for Individual Education Plans (IEP's), and/or the education portion of Individual Habilitation. Plans for each pupil under their assignment, and implements educational programming as prescribed for each pupil. This employee will coordinate recommendations of the Speech Therapist, Physical Therapist, and other professional members of the inter-disciplinary committee with the educational prescription for each pupil. Also, this employee will collaborate with patient treatment teams from the education perspective.
SPECIAL NOTE: Preference will be given to candidates that possess a teaching certificate in Special Education.

EDUCATION: Possession of a valid NJ Standard Teacher's Certificate or Permanent Endorsement, issued by the Board of Examiners of the New Jersey Department of Education, authorizing instruction in subject's areas appropriate to the teaching assignment, as determined by the head of a particular school or district.
NOTE: Teacher 3 is utilized to teach differing student populations and different content areas; therefore, the specific teaching certificate may vary.
EXPERIENCE: Thirty-six (36) months of full-time, properly certified teaching experience in an approved school, earned after the receipt of the New Jersey Standard Teacher's Certificate.
SPECIAL NOTE: Ability to physically lift, move, and position students.
