This position performs accounting function for the Revenue section within the Division of Finance, Office of Financial Services. Serves as a liaison between the Revenue section and other sections within the Department.
Job Responsibilities:
Under broad supervision, performs or oversees the development, implementation and monitoring of accounting activity for the Revenue department or agency. Analyzes financial information and programs, identifies financial trends, makes recommendations to management and prepares a full range of financial reports, including specialized or non-standard reports.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Record and validate transactions in a timely manner
Monitors bank account balances throughout the day
Ensures funds are drawn/wired appropriately and timely
Master's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university AND Two years of professional accounting experience,
OR
Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university AND Three years of professional accounting experience,
OR
Bachelor's degree in a business curriculum which included completion of introductory and intermediate accounting sequence from an accredited college or university AND Four years of professional accounting experience.
Note: Some positions may require certifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP, and State Accounting Office guidelines
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong proficiency in financial software applications such as PeopleSoft Financials
