This position is responsible for coordinating regional planning with the Local Health Departments for counties in PHP&R’s western region. Those counties include Alexander, Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Caldwell, Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Swain, Transylvania, Watauga, Wilkes, Yancey. The position will develop all-hazards regional preparedness plans based on federal requirements, including evaluation, assist with the development of county preparedness plans for counties within the western region, coordinate and conduct collaborative meetings with regional partners, coordinate training activities, provide education and technical assistance on best practices in preparedness, support documentation needs, and write reports. This position is home based and requires regular travel to counties in the western region and occasional travel to other areas of the state. This position is subject to recall during pubic health emergencies.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three (3) years of experience in the program related to the area of assignment; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
