As part of the Office of Radiation Protection, Radioactive Materials Section, this position supports the agency’s mission by identifying radiation hazards, reviewing requests for radioactive materials use, and assuring licensee compliance with the radiation safety rules and license conditions.
These are full-time permanent Radiation Health Physicist 2 (RHP 2) positions.
The duty station for this position is in Tumwater, WA. Telework (mobile work) is currently expected. When approved, the incumbent is expected to report to the duty station for work activities. Partial telecommuting may be an option subject to supervisory approval. It is anticipated that the incumbent would be expected to report at the Tumwater, WA duty station one (1) day every two weeks/per week to partake in inspections as appropriate.
Option 1: One (1) or more years of experience as a Radiation Health Physicist 1 or an equivalent role in an official radiation control program.
OR
Option 2: A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a physical science, engineering or biological science, or a closely related field; and two (2) years in an official radiation control program.
