Job Responsibilities:
Under general supervision of the Office of Pharmacy, this position will work with the Tuberculosis Program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Travel throughout the state to provide 340B training to State and District TB staff.
Shares expertise and assists with training, education, and communication to staff and Program participants regarding updates to 340B policies and procedures.
Audits all TB points of service where 340B participation occurs to ensure compliance with 340B program requisites, including entity and patient qualifications and ensure consistent processes are followed across all.
Monitor and assess 340B guidance and/or rule changes, including, but not limited to HRSA/OPA rules and Medicaid changes.
Reports any deficiencies identified during auditing and review for appropriate resolution.
Provide clinical, educational, informational, and distribution functions for the Tuberculosis Program.
Develop and conduct ongoing 340B training, education, and communication to medical, pharmacy, nursing, and state and local DPH staff.
Develop training/competency materials for all staff who work with 340B pharmaceuticals.
Participate in Clinical TB meetings and pharmaceutical discussions and review all TB documents regarding Tuberculosis pharmaceutical treatments.
May act as the liaison between pharmacy services and the Tuberculosis Program staff.
Identify performance improvement opportunities and make recommendations of ways to improve TB clinical and distributive services.
Provides timely and accurate communication, both written and verbal as appropriate.
Doctorate or professional degree in pharmacology from an accredited college or university AND current Georgia license to practice pharmacology AND Six months of professional pharmacology experience,
OR
One year of experience at the lower level Pharmacist 1 (HCP150) or position equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants who meet the following requirements.
2 years’ experience with 340B drug pricing, auditing, and regulations
2 years’ experience as a pharmacist in Public Health
1 years’ experience working with Infectious Diseases
