The position is responsible for agency General Ledger entry and reporting, responsible for daily accounting for accounts payable, receivables, federal grants, vendor management, grant benefits bookkeeping and reporting and reporting to other state entities for agency budget preparation and budget management.
Position is a direct report to the Executive Director and serves as liaison to other accounting and finance sections within the state-agency environment.
Note: This is a “Hybrid” position which may allow a flexible working environment in-office and remote.
Job Responsibilities:
Under supervision, applies accounting techniques to compile, analyze and document agencies financial data. Learns to summarize and report information for financial statements and quarterly or annual reports.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Analyzes payroll data or statistics and produces reports, financial trending data or projections, or advanced-level analysis
Compiles financial information from all components and develops integrated revenue/expense analyses and reports
May assess financial data to determine the resources required to implement a program, or to analyze trends
Prepares, analyzes, and verifies annual reports, financial statements, and other records, using accepted accounting and statistical procedures to assess financial condition and facilitate financial planning
Prepares, examines, reconciles, and analyzes accounting records, financial statements, budget records, and other documentation to assess their accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
Provides advanced-level professional recommendations and financial reports to management
Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance or a closely related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of professional level experience in accounting and/or a closely related fiscal activity.
