JOB SUMMARY (PARAGRAPH OR SUMMARIZED STATEMENT ABOUT THE POSITION):
The Director of Women’s Health will be responsible for statewide leadership and coordination of DPH’s Women’s Health Programs including Georgia Perinatal Quality Collaborative, Maternal Mental Health, Family Planning, Reginal Perinatal Centers, Perinatal Level of Care Designation, Breast and Cervical Cancer Program, Maternal Home Visiting, and Maternal Mortality Review.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (OVERALL TASKS AND EXPECTATIONS OF THE POSITION):
• Leads the Women’s Health Programs including Georgia Perinatal Quality Collaborative, Maternal Mental Health, Family Planning, Reginal Perinatal Centers, Perinatal Level of Care Designation, Breast and Cervical Cancer Program, Maternal Home Visiting, and Maternal Mortality Review. • Provides expert guidance, technical assistance, training, and mentorship to Women’s Health staff. • Responsible for efficient management of state and federal funding allocations, grants, and contracts. • Responsible for assuring compliance with state and federal requirements and guidelines through ongoing evaluation, oversight, and reporting. • Provides ongoing coordination and monitoring to assure program timelines, reports, contract requirements are completed as required. • Establishes standards and protocols for women’s health clinical services. • Develops, implements, and leads Women’s Health’s health equity initiative to increase awareness and reduce racial and ethnic disparities. • Provides leadership for grant applications and needs assessments as required. • Responsible for effective collaboration between Women’s Health programs and other DPH Programs, public health districts, agencies, and partners. • Responsible for supervision of staff.
Bachelors degree in related field from an accredited college or university AND seven years of experience managing professional level staff
OR
Ten years of related professional experience AND Seven years managing at the level equivalent to area of assignment
OR
Seven years of experience required at the lower level Dir., Business Ops (GSM014) or position equivalent.
Note: An equivalent combination of education and job specific experience that that provided the knowledge, experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications (Based on the needs of the position): • Active Georgia Nursing license. • Master’s degree in public health or other related field • Experience in women’s health • Experience in public health
