The purpose of the Agency Legal Consultant position is to provide advanced professional legal policy development and technical assistance to the Chronic Disease and Injury (CDI) Section of the NC Division of Public Health, local health departments and partners. This guidance will focus on implementing and advancing laws and regulations that impact chronic disease and injury prevention. This position will collaborate with an existing CDI Section Agency Legal Consultant to (1) plan and implement proactive, evidence-based policy operations with special emphasis on the ecigarette epidemic and tobacco use as it is a leading risk factor for many chronic diseases, (2) partner with managers and staff to track policy deliverables, (3) develop proactive policy strategies, and (4) shepherd related
