The Research Scientist (RS) II (Microbiological Sciences) plans, organizes, and carries out scientific research studies of moderate scientific scope and complexity, and will participate in microbial identification and characterization using various biochemical, immunological, and molecular testing methods. The RS II also has a key role in developing new test methods, writing procedures and reports, and presenting study findings to support public health laboratory testing that directly aligns with the CDPH’s mission. Furthermore, the RS II actively participates in various laboratory activities to maintain compliance with Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) regulations.
