You will manage the activities of the Environmental Surveillance and Assessment Section in order to protect the health of the public within the scope of activities assigned to the section. In this role, you will participate in policy identification and implementation, fiscal and personnel administration, and program development.
At least five years of experience as a supervisor or manager of an environmental protection program, which includes either oversight of planning or policy development.
Knowledge of public health, environmental health, environmental hazards prevention, and assessment and control of environmental risks.
Minimum qualifications that will be assessed during the interview process:
Human relations skills
Management skills, including supervision
Experience in an Environmental Public Health leadership position
Experience managing a state-wide program
Experience managing multiple overlapping projects that engage a variety of stakeholders
Experience managing policy and budget development through the legislative process
This position requires successful completion of a background check.
