The Health Program Specialist I (HPS I) contributes to California’s goal of promoting health and wellness while working collaboratively with state and federal agencies, local health jurisdictions (LHJs), universities, and community-based organizations (CBOs) to ensure efforts to combat the HIV epidemic and to control sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are targeted and effective.
The incumbent works under the general direction of the Research Scientist Manager, Chief of the ADAP and Care Evaluation and Informatics (ACEI) Branch and receives instructions and guidance from the Care Evaluation and Monitoring (CEM) Section and the ADAP Fiscal Forecasting, Evaluation, and Monitoring (AFFEM) Section Chiefs on all Clinical Quality Management (CQM) matters relevant to the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) grant. The HPS I’s primary responsibility will be coordinating the development and submission of the CQM Plan for the HIV Care Branch and the ADAP Branch. The HPS I is charged with ensuring CQM program meets the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) requirements and quality management standards. In addition, this position assists in the CQM Quality Improvement (QI) projects, reporting of activities, develops policies, procedures, and objectives related to the plan’s development and implementation, and provides technical assistance to funded contractor/provider staff.
