Job Summary
The Center for Health Equity is looking for a communication-focused individual to develop and lead the implementation of the operational communications efforts related to health equity. This position will plan, create, and disseminate equity-related content. This includes communication such mediums such as print, digital, and broadcast channels, including web, GovDelivery, print collateral, presentations, social media, and toolkits. This individual will have to the opportunity to coordinate communications strategies to ensure that our partners and the people they serve receive regular and consistent messaging around the work of the CHE. This individual will maintain a working knowledge of issues affecting communities most impacted by inequities. On occasion, the incumbent will provide technology support for community forums, interagency meetings, and other events.
This is a hybrid telework position that may require in-person meetings with external shareholders as well as in-office work in the downtown St. Paul location.
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of professional work experience performing one or more of the following duties
Experience developing communications materials for a variety of media, such as newspapers, radio and television, websites, email alerts and social media
Experience developing and implementing communications, public affairs, marketing, outreach, and/or engagement strategies
Experience with development of objectives, evaluation, and measurement of outcomes
A degree in Public Health, Public Policy, Communications, or a related field will substitute for advanced professional public health experience, as follows:
Master’s degree = 18 month of experience
Bachelor’s degree = 12 months of experience
Associates degree = 6 months of experience
Minimum qualifications to be assessed at interview:
Ability to problem solve and effectively plan work processes
Knowledge and understanding of the concepts of equity and inclusion
Ability to prioritize multiple objectives and deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
Public sector Public Affairs, Engagement, Marketing, or Communications experience with a focus on health promotion
Experience partnering with businesses, community organizations, or government agencies on outreach, engagement, or communications strategies
Experience using software sufficient to prepare and deliver essential communications (web-based, digital platforms, graphics, Microsoft Office)
