Environmental Engineer 3
This position works as Professional Engineer (PE) or as an Engineer-In-Training (EIT) performing independent geological engineering duties for the Radioactive Waste Management Section. The Environmental Engineer 3 completes the final review, approval, and oversight of activities associated with the closure of the commercial low-level radioactive waste disposal facility, a uranium mill facility, and mineral processing facilities. The Department of Health (DOH), in conjunction with the federal government, must determine that the facilities are closed in a manner that meets all regulatory standards and engineering requirements for the eventual return of those facilities to the federal government or other regulatory agencies as required.
