The HPS II works under the direction of the Health Program Manager II, in the Climate Change and Health Resilience Planning Unit in the Office of Health Equity (OHE), within CDPH.
The HPS II, in coordination with HPM II, will support the implementation of the new Climate Change and Health Resilience Planning Program. The HPS II will lead the Unit staff in conducting outreach, trainings and providing technical assistance to California Local Health Departments (LHDs), Tribes, and community-based organizations (CBOs) to initiate or support participation in the Climate Change and Health Resilience Planning Program. The HPS II will represent the Climate Change and Health Resilience Planning Unit and serve as a liaison to all external and internal partners by attending meetings, coordinating program guideline development and interpretation, and resolving problems as they arise. The HPS II is a highly skilled technical program consultant expected to provide coordination of activities including program planning, implementation, and evaluation; communications; stakeholder engagement; interpretation of research and data; training; and contract and budget management.
This position is 100% telework, with the option to go into the office.
This is a 12-month Limited Term/Full-Time position that may be extended or become permanent.
