The Research Data Supervisor II (RD Sup II) supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by serving as the Chief of the Intakes & Enforcement Analytics Section (IE Section) in the CHCQ Informatics Branch. The position manages high-level research staff working on special projects with statewide program impact, mandated legislative reports, CHCQ program performance reports, and advises the Deputy Director on complex and sensitive program planning issues. The RD Sup II is responsible for providing direction to the IE Section and personally manages projects that are highly sensitive and may involve representatives of the Legislature, other state departments, and the federal government. Responsible for the design and implementation of CHCQ reporting systems and performance reports related to licensed and certified facilities. Creates and maintains data governance and metadata framework and documentation; maps business processes, trains staff in the collection, analysis, and monitors data trends affecting the healthcare delivery systems; and validates and publishes comprehensive reports. Proficient in SAS and Excel (including pivot tables.).
The incumbent works under the general direction of the CHCQ Informatics Branch Chief, Research Data Manager (RDM).
Teleworking may be available for this position, in accordance with CDPH’s Telework Policy and Procedures.
