Demonstrated working knowledge of the services, rules and rates and out processing of the US mail, small package, and freight carriers. Demonstrated working knowledge of the process of accepting equipment, scientific samples, and supplies from small package and freight carriers. The Office Services Specialist will be responsible for the receipt, control and delivery of incoming mail and shipments; the pick-up, processing and disposition of outgoing mail and shipments; the receipt, storage, retrieval and distribution of supplies, equipment, gases, biological specimens, dry ice, and furniture; and the proper processing of assets that are tagged/recorded. The incumbent will supervise staff in performing these tasks and conduct activities associated with maintaining and/or improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the mail, supply, and inventory system in order to meet the daily needs of the Wadsworth Center site as assigned. The incumbent will plan, organize and schedule work activity and assist in developing and implementing procedures that ensure the proper handling of mail, supplies and equipment.
