Research Scientist I | RESEARCH SCIENTIST I (MICROBIOLOGICAL SCIENCES)
The Research Scientist (RS) I (Microbiological Sciences) will work on projects to support outbreak investigations and pathogen characterization, using a variety of complex methods that may include, but are not limited to, immunoserology, real-time Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), amplicon-based sequencing, and whole genome sequencing (WGS). The RS I will provide technical scientific consultation on aspects of limited scientific scope and complexity classical virological methods to support larger research studies, and when fully trained, will independently troubleshoot protocols and solve issues using standard virological techniques and principles. The RS I will also participate in implementing and following quality control and quality assurance (QA/QC) policies for laboratory operations
