The Center for Tobacco Product’s (CTP) mission is to make tobacco-related death and disease part of America's past, not America's future, and, by doing so, ensure a healthier life for every family. Established in 2009, under the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act, CTP regulates the manufacture, distribution, promotion, and sale of tobacco products. The CTP Office of Science is responsible for identifying, developing, and applying the science related to tobacco products, their use, and the health effect so that FDA regulatory decisions will have the greatest impact on improving public health.
