Location: Remote
Summary:
The ASTHO intern will work to support ASTHO's initiatives around advancing optimal health for all while supporting state and territorial health officials and their agencies. The intern is responsible for supporting the specific content areas and other members of internal ASTHO staff by developing deliverables and capacity building knowledge products.
Duties include:
- Develop materials, along with ASTHO staff, for capacity building/technical assistance to states to build placebased and community-led resiliency building activities.
- Assist with logistics and meeting notes for conference calls, webinars and inperson convenings.
- Conduct literature reviews and prepare issue briefs and other written deliverables on health equity and antiracism efforts at the state level.
- Assist with other tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 1-2 years relevant writing skills (experience in a public health environment preferred).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
- Strong creative thinking skills and ability to think conceptually.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a diligent eye for detail, language, flow, and grammar.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent portfolio of work.
- Effective interpersonal skills.
Intern Rate:
Interns typically work 20 hours per week for approximately 3 months. The hourly rate for graduate students is $21.50 per hour; undergraduate rate is $18.50 per hour.
