The Clinic Manager supervises clinic operations staff involved in routine functions. Oversight of administrative areas such as registration, new patient coordination, scheduling, medical records storage and maintenance, facilities, insurance authorizations, and clinical support staff such as medical assistants/health educators.
New Generation Health Center (NGHC) provides high-risk adolescents and young adults an array of family planning and reproductive health services. NGHC is a partnership between UCSF, Homeless Prenatal Program, and the San Francisco Department of Public Health's Community Program for Youth (CHPY). The Clinic Manager directly reports to the UCSF medical director and works closely with the CHPY nurse manager with respect to clinic operations. The Clinic Manager is responsible for overseeing daily clinic workflow and coordination. The individual will conduct a range of clinic management activities including assigning work, provider scheduling and assigning daily duties, and identifying and implementing ways to maximize the clinic's efficiency and the patient experience.
The position is responsible for triaging patients, providing support and orientation to clinicians as needed, overseeing supply, medication and vaccine inventory and reviewing patient charts to ensure proper charting has been completed. The Clinic Manager supervises medical support staff and provides training and direction to health educators who conduct clinic responsibilities including counseling, front desk, and laboratory. The individual also works directly with research to coordinate participation in research studies at the clinic.
