Health Program Specialist - Environmental Health The Environmental Health Program works to improve the health of Idahoans by identifying, assessing, and reducing exposures to environmental health hazards through conducting public health assessments, preventing or mitigating toxic exposures from hazardous materials, providing community education and outreach, and collaborating with federal, state, tribal, and local partners. The Health Program Specialist will be responsible for assisting the Environmental Health Program Manager and State Toxicologist with program planning and development, program implementation and evaluation, communication and coordination, and some financial activities. This position will work with federal, state, local, and tribal agencies, including public health districts, universities, early care education centers, non-profit organizations, healthcare providers, and stakeholders throughout Idaho. Health Program Specialist - Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention With support from the Environmental Health Program Manager, the limited service Health Program Specialist will work to create a Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program focused on primary and secondary prevention strategies for childhood lead poisoning prevention and surveillance and linking lead-exposed children to recommended services. This position will work with federal, state, local, and tribal agencies, including the Idaho Medicaid Lead Advisory Committee, healthcare providers, public health districts, universities, Idaho Bureau of Laboratories, Bureau of Communicable Disease Prevention, and stakeholders throughout Idaho. This is a limited service position. Length of limited service appointments are determined by the availability of funds such as grants, alternative funding sources and/or timeframes such as pilot projects, alternative funding sources or program termination.
