The Project Manager will execute project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on-time and within budget, adhere to high quality standards, and delight the customer. This individual will be responsible for coordinating project plans, team and work assignments, guiding, and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality review, and escalating functional, quality and timeline issues appropriately. Project resources may be drawn from shared pools within and outside Enterprise Technology Services; coordination of resources may be required with other managers. Candidates will have experience presenting to executives, end-users (faculty, students, and staff), and subject-matter experts. Candidate must possess excellent negotiation, facilitation, consensus-building, and diplomacy skills and will exhibit a strong customer service orientation. Candidate will be expected to stay current with a constantly changing technology and vendor landscape. This individual will serve as a knowledgeable liaison between the functional and technical communities.
Ensurig that the experience of participants (Precision Medicine Centers of Excellence) matches their expressed goals and the expectations of stakeholders;
Preparing new Precision Medicine Centers of Excellence for participation in the inHealth Precision Medicine program.
Project management and general support for multiple Precision Medicine Centers of Excellence simultaneously.
Identifying and tracking of success metrics for Precision Medicine Centers of Excellence;
Defining product roadmaps and product requirements based on the needs of the medical research community at Johns Hopkins. This includes the ability to:
translate business requirements into IT solutions;
prioritize requirements based on estimated impact to users, cost to implement, and availability of existing solutions;
measure and evaluate the success of solutions;
present roadmaps and progress to executive stakeholders.
Performing project management duties (using Agile development methodologies) to ensure that product development aligns with the product roadmap, on schedule and within budget;
Ongoing tracking of performance and customer satisfaction of the product(s);
Providing Tier 2 or 3 customer support for tools in the individual's products and creating documentation to enable Tier 1 customer support by other groups. The solutions and initiatives the individual will be responsible for will include:
One or more analytical products designed for medical researchers or healthcare providers. This may include components of the Precision Medicine Analytics Platform used for data discovery, analytics, or clinical decision support;
Engagement with and project management for one or more early-adopter research groups (Precision Medicine Centers of Excellence), to ensure they meet the pre-requisites for working with the analytical environment, to ensure their continued success with the environment for a specified period, and to ensure a smooth transition to long-term customers of the Precision Medicine Analytics Platform. To accomplish these duties, the individual will:
Coordinate work with IT and non-IT professionals from multiple groups, drawing resources from within and outside the central IT organization in coordination with other managers
Be available to work in East Baltimore (adjacent to the Johns Hopkins Hospital) as well as with customers and colleagues at multiple sites in and around Baltimore.
After an initial probation / learning period, this position will support a hybrid work environment with two days per week on site. Some training and mentorship in technology Product Management processes will be available to the selected candidate. Qualifications Minimum qualifications (mandatory):
Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum of six (6) years' experience in delivering or supporting effective technology solutions required, as a software product manager or as a leader in a closely related area (e.g. project management, customer service, software engineering, user centered design). Preferred qualifications:
Product management, project management, or relevant software experience in the clinical, medical research or higher education space.
