The Oregon Health & Science University and Portland State University School of Public Health in Portland, OR invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track position for no later than the Fall of 2022 to teach primarily in the Master of Public Health: Health Management and Policy program. We seek a faculty colleague with broad expertise in health systems management and policy, with the ability to teach in several areas related to health services delivery, organization, and ethics. Additional expertise or professional experience in cognate areas such as research design, financial management, program evaluation and/or health law is an asset. We are seeking candidates who are prepared to contribute to our commitment to social justice, equity, diversity and inclusion in education. The position is a nine-month, non-tenure track, renewable appointment (probationary leading to continuous appointment) at Portland State University.
The successful candidate will teach graduate courses in health systems management and policy, and may become involved in undergraduate health services administration teaching. All faculty are expected to participate in program and School governance, and to engage with community organizations for community-based learning. Various assignments for non-tenure track instructional and research faculty may include direct instruction, supporting scholarly activities, and service to the University, community, and profession. Expectations for the position are summarized in the position description and will be the principal components upon which annual review and reappointment decisions will be based. * Doctoral degree in health services management, health systems, health policy, or related discipline
* Demonstrated excellence in teaching, both virtually and in person.
* Ability to engage students to achieve academic excellence in the specified course.
* Evidence of successful student learning outcomes.
* Experience with contributions to course and curriculum development.
* Effective organizational, time management and communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively with individuals from and topics related to diverse populations.
* Developing or demonstrated history of community engagement and collaboration
* Additional expertise or professional experience in cognate areas such as research design, financial management, program evaluation and/or health law.
