General Summary/Purpose
Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs is looking for a program specialist to provide both administrative and programmatic assistance on the KAP COVID project. This project, surveying people around the work on knowledge, attitudes and practices related to COVID-19 and interpreting the resulting data, is a partnership with Johns Hopkins CCP, Facebook, WHO, GOARN and MIT. This position reports to the Director of Digital Strategy.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
The KAP COVID Program Specialist will work with team members to both implement and suggest/test new ways to use communication strategies to promote use of the dashboards and related insights, while enforcing and maintaining web and branding standards. The Program Specialist will also assist in administrative duties related to the project, such as setting up meetings, assisting in documentation and working with finance on processing work orders and invoices.
The Program Specialist must be able to manage and meet assigned project and task schedules. Other duties include: Produce graphics for social media and other digital communications channels to promote the KAP COVID dashboards and their use, assist staff in interpreting and analyzing results from the dashboards, developing mailings and social media posts, contribute to global COVID-19 presentations and facilitate engagement with high-level stakeholders, work with CCP Country teams to promote country-level data and data use among teams and their partners, collect and manage feedback database which houses use-case data, Create and maintain materials for use in risk communication presentations, Ministry of Health presentation, partner presentations, academic presentations, webinars, and other dissemination efforts, Assist in reporting analytics on dashboards and quantifying social media efforts, Support and coordinate administrative tasks related to finance, vendor management, Set up meetings including agenda creation, phone lines, room reservations, and Zoom set-up. Test and ensure all presentations display properly and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. Two years related experience required.
Additional relevant experience and/or training may substitute for some education.
* JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for the required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job. *

During the Influenza ("the flu") season, as a condition of employment, The Johns Hopkins Institutions require all employees who provide ongoing services to patients or work in patient care or clinical care areas to have an annual influenza vaccination or possess an approved medical or religious exception. Failure to meet this requirement may result in termination of employment.
The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
