Department: Safety, Emergency, and Enterprise Risk Management (SEERM) Web Announcement: Public Health Specialist The George Mason University, Department of Safety, Emergency, and Enterprise Risk Management (SEERM) invites applications for a part-time Public Health Specialist. About the Position: In response to the global coronavirus pandemic, George Mason University has stood up a robust emergency planning, response and recovery effort that involves implementation of public safety measures (masks, physical distancing, hand hygiene, etc.), COVID testing of up to 10,000 people per week, daily health screening, remote work and instruction, and administration of vaccines for the surrounding and Mason community. Public Health Specialists are needed to assist Mason in these areas from April 5th through July 31st. Responsibilities: While duties may shift and be in a variety of areas such campus preparations, testing site support, etc., it is expected that the majority of support needed will focus on the mass vaccination effort that is underway at EagleBank Arena. Work done in support of the vaccination clinics includes serving in the following roles: Greeter, Patient Check-in, Pedestrian Traffic Control, Patient Observation, and Health Information Scribe.
