The Yale University School of Nursing (www.nursing.yale.edu) invites applications from (and nominations of) highly qualified candidates for tenure-track faculty at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Full Professor level in nursing and/or midwifery or any field relevant to the School.
The mission of Yale School of Nursing is "better health for all people." Yale School of Nursing has long been an innovator and leader in education, practice, and research. We were the first U.S. university-based nursing school and a leader in direct entry nursing for second-degree candidates. Our graduate entry pre-specialty in nursing (GEPN), nurse practitioner, nurse-midwifery, DNP, and PhD programs are world class and draw top quality students from around the globe. Faculty research covers a wide array of topics. We are national leaders in self-management with patients and families with chronic health conditions, palliative care, sleep science, and other innovative research areas. YSN scientists collaborate with colleagues across Yale, including the Center for Clinical Investigation supported by a Clinical and Translational Science Award, the Schools of Public Health and Medicine, the Veteran's Health Administration, and community agencies, among others.
Faculty members in the Yale School of Nursing contribute to the tripartite mission of practice, scholarship, and teaching with an overarching effort to support social justice, diversity, equity, inclusion, anti-racism/anti-oppression, and reconciliation. Completion of a PhD or DNSc degree in a field directly related to nursing and active RN licensure are required. Candidates eligible for this position will have an established program of funded scientific research in an area of basic, translational, or applied research that advances nursing science and/or nursing education. Strong preference will be given to candidates who have a track record of federal funding as principal investigator. All faculty members are expected to have a regular on-campus presence for activities which may include but are not limited to teaching, service, clinical practice, scholarship and research.
