This Clinical Research Assistant I will be responsible for: - Assist in maintaining IRB documentation including- amendments and annual reviews by triaging requested documentation and distributing to the appropriate UDN staff.
- Triage messages from the UDN coordinating center.
- Triage messages from patient families.
- Collect, organize and electronically file patients' medical records.
- Schedule virtual UDN visits with the champions and other identified team members.
- Communicate with patients and families over the phone, email and mail.
- Coordinate the distribution, collection and verification of consent forms packets.
- Coordinate BCH Clinical Evaluation Team meeting.
- Track patient flow through the Case Assessment Committee, Steering Committee and Clinical Evaluation Teams. Update the the excel tracking document.
- Provide reminders to reviewers to submit their decisions in a timely manner.
- Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) database; maintenance and data entry.
- Responsible for monitoring central UDN database (Gateway) for BCH patients.
- Manage process of collecting, storing, tracking, and shipping samples, both clinical and research.
- Work closely with Site Operations Team to track and manage all accepted patients.
Future responsibilities when in-person visits resume: - Coordinate travel for patients and families visiting the Harvard clinical site - including accommodations, any needs of family during visit, and reimbursement of expenses after travel
- Coordinate UDN patient visits at the BCH clinical site
- Create summary schedule for clinical visit and distribute to patients and family
- Meet patients when they arrive at clinical site
- Act as patient liaison while UDN patient and family members are visiting clinical site - done directly in person for duration of family's (usually) week-long visit
To qualify, you must have: - Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree.
- Work requires the analytical skills to gather and interpret data in which the information or problems are moderately complex to complex.
- Work requires well-developed communication skills in order to provide critical information to patients, effectively deal with conflicting views or issues, and the ability to mediate fair solutions.
- Work also requires advanced writing skills.
