About the team The Global Impact Group (GIG) leads IHME’s pursuit to improve health policy and practice through cutting edge communication and collaboration. GIG runs campaigns to build awareness of the most critical health challenges, and work with decision-makers to take informed action. Within GIG, the Network Engagement team develops and manages relationships with key global stakeholders, furnishing evidence in the right format, at the right time, to the right stakeholders in order to inform decision making. About the role We are seeking a Senior Engagement Manager of Country Affairs to help achieve IHME’s mission by strategically managing IHME’s relationships with countries, particularly with government agencies, ministries of health, academic institutions, civil society organizations, and a diverse range of individual collaborators. The Senior Engagement Manager will be a globally-savvy leader who is skilled at strategically managing and expanding a dynamic, geographically-dispersed team. The individual will represent IHME and its scientific research in complex political settings and supervise staff who do the same across a range of countries and world regions. Additionally, the role will help to advance new strategies for scaling and prioritizing country engagements. This position manages a dynamic, external-facing team that is responsible for global engagement in diverse locations of the world, while simultaneously contributing to strategic planning on the Network Engagement team to increase impact. They are responsible for coaching and mentoring staff who operate in complex political settings with a high degree of independence, for exercising excellent organizational judgment at all times, and for proactively managing organizational risks. The person in this role will have their own portfolio of relationships to manage as well as mentoring and managing employees who have their own portfolios.
