The University of Minnesota’s School of Dentistry and Masonic Cancer Center invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in cancer biology, with an emphasis on oral and/or head & neck cancers (e.g., oropharyngeal cancer). Ideal candidates will have a research track record of competitive research in cancer biology, have high promise or demonstrated success in obtaining extramural funding for their research, and complement existing strengths that allows contribution to interdisciplinary and collaborative cancer research teams. The successful candidate will join a large and vibrant cancer research community that is associated with the Masonic Cancer Center and the School of Dentistry, faculty in the Medical School, the School of Public Health, and the Institute for Molecular Virology. The Masonic Cancer Center is an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center that creates a collaborative research environment focused on the causes, prevention, detection and the treatment of cancer. Appointment at the Associate Professor rank will be considered for individuals with appropriate credentials. This is a full-time academic appointment at the rank of tenure-track Assistant Professor. Salary is commensurate with experience. Position open until filled. Duties and Responsibilities: The primary role of this new faculty position is to develop a cancer biology research program emphasizing oral and/or head & neck cancers, and to foster collaboration with other supportive fields. It is expected that the candidate will maintain a funded peer-reviewed research program from federal and non-federal sources. Limited teaching and service will be expected.
